Job Title: Patient Care Coordinator

Actalent is seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize Medent as EMR for patient records, logging medications, reconciling with pharmacy, and updating computer systems for MRI, CAT scan, and other requests.
  • Put scripts in EMR and call facilities for STATs, utilizing fax machines between offices for files that need to be added to patient files.
  • Schedule appointments with patients via phone, verifying patient insurance coverage, collecting copayments, and knowledge of insurance coverages to support patient questions.
  • Assist patients with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring all necessary forms are completed, and maintain and update patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Process insurance claims, create invoices, and manage patient billing, updating and maintaining accurate patient medical histories and records.
  • Assist with patient examinations, take vital signs, and prepare patients for procedures, answering calls for all offices, and utilizing problem-solving skills to decipher the body part that needs attention, identify the best doctor, and schedule appointments accordingly.
  • Triage all patient questions to the proper clinical point of contact.
Requirements:
  • Experience with patient scheduling and insurance reviews via phone.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • EMR Experience (Medent).
  • Previous Medical Assistant experience (Certification preferred but not required).
Work Environment:
  • Team of 8 in this department.
  • Must provide own equipment and workspace for remote work.
  • Shift: Mon-Fri 8:00am - 6:30pm, no weekends (likely to have 2 days at 8am start and 2 days at 9am start).
  • May need more evening hours on Mondays if current coverage changes - expected 40 hours per week.
