Key Responsibilities
  • Site Origination and Control: Negotiate site control agreements, secure permits, and facilitate utility interconnections to ensure timely project completion.
  • Value Proposition Development: Craft compelling value propositions that highlight avoided costs, load profiles, applicable tariffs, and layered revenue streams to attract investors and stakeholders.
  • Lead Campaign Strategies: Collaborate with junior business development staff to develop and implement effective lead campaign strategies to drive project growth.
  • Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain long-term relationships with site owners, energy users, and other project stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Communication and Community Engagement: Effectively communicate with project stakeholders and community members to facilitate project permitting and other initiatives.
  • Project Management: Actively manage development schedules and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
  • Consultant Management: Manage external consultants as needed to support project permitting activities.
  • Government and Community Relations: Foster support from state, county, and local governments, community groups, and abutters to ensure project success.
  • Internal Collaboration: Support internal finance, engineering, and construction teams to facilitate successful project financing and construction.
  • Marketing and Sales: Develop sales presentations, proposals, and other materials to support project development efforts.
Requirements
  • Energy Industry Experience: Three or more years of experience in a business development role, with at least one year in Utility Scale development.
  • Integration and Commercial Real Estate: Integration of PV and energy storage systems preferred, with commercial real estate prospecting and business model understanding.
  • Leadership and Communication: Effective team leader and collaborator with a commitment to SunEnergy1's mission and a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today.
  • Problem-Solving and Relationship-Building: Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization, with a focus on building strong internal and external relationships.
