Job Overview

Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SIA), a leading engineering consulting firm, is seeking a highly skilled Metallurgical Engineering Specialist to join their team in Austin, Texas. The successful candidate will provide metallurgical and failure analysis services, leveraging their expertise to prevent mechanical and structural failures in various industries.

This role requires a B.S. degree in metallurgy or materials engineering, along with 15 years of experience in metallurgical failure analysis consulting services. Project management skills, knowledge of destructive laboratory testing, metallography, and microscopy related to power generation and industrial component failures are essential. A PE license or an identified path toward licensure is also desired.

Responsibilities

  • Review client needs for failed or damaged metal components and develop proposals for condition assessment or failure analysis services.
  • Manage metallurgical laboratory projects, coordinating work scopes, interacting with lab technicians, reviewing results, and preparing reports to provide findings and recommendations.
  • Provide materials support to SI's engineering staff, assisting with consulting services, root cause analysis investigations, asset management, and condition assessments.

SIA offers a competitive salary ($120,000 - $150,000 per year) and performance-based bonus program.
