JOB SUMMARY: The Media Coordinator role is essential in supporting the operations of the Korea Battle Simulation Center (KBSC).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct assistance to the Chief of the Plans & Training Branch. This includes developing, interviewing, scripting, shooting, and producing simulated broadcast news-style video and print materials for military training exercises.
  • Facilitate the transportation of equipment to various training sites within the Pacific Command region.
  • Act as a simulated media representative to fulfill training objectives effectively.
  • Participate in training sessions and necessary events to gain a comprehensive understanding of scenario development throughout exercises.
  • Play a pivotal role in shaping and controlling media products; create and present simulated media outputs for review and submission, and assist in coordinating with Public Affairs and training audiences for mock media engagements and interviews.
  • Security Clearance: Secret
  • Supervisor: Chief Plans and Training

LOCATION: Camp Humphreys, Korea and PACOM area of operation/international.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be capable of traveling independently to events in the Pacific Command, averaging one trip monthly for durations of 3-14 days.
  • Self-motivated individuals should be able to transport, carry, and operate laptop and A/V equipment.
  • Understanding the media's role in military operations is crucial; candidates must be active listeners and effective team players.
  • Physical capability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods is required.

Selected applicants will undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for accessing classified information.

DESIRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and experience engaging with mid to high-level military and government officials.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in nonlinear editing using Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign, etc.).
  • Proactive individuals who are self-driven to continuously learn and enhance their expertise in workflows and deliverables will thrive in this role.
  • A background in television news is preferred, with an understanding of the demands of a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • A minimum of an associate's degree is required.
  • Proficiency in standard desktop applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, is necessary. The ability to accurately comprehend military operations at both strategic and tactical levels is essential.
  • Experience with Motion Graphics is advantageous.

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in operating a diverse range of video recording equipment, including cameras, lighting, live production switchers, sound, and editing tools.
  • Ability to operate audio-visual equipment to produce pre-recorded live-to-tape productions, such as simulated news broadcasts, public service announcements, and training videos.
  • Responsible for overseeing script development, shot selection, graphic usage, directing talent, and managing overall product arrangement.
