Dental Hygienist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to provide high-quality dental services and education to our patients in Staten Island, NY.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform dental hygiene procedures, including teeth cleaning, scaling, and polishing.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays.
  • Assess patients' oral health, identifying signs of disease, decay, or other oral health issues.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and preventive care, including brushing, flossing, and diet.
  • Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluoride treatments.
  • Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments when necessary.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure accurate documentation of dental history.
  • Sterilize dental instruments and ensure infection control compliance.
  • Provide patient comfort and answer any questions or concerns regarding dental hygiene or treatments.
  • Stay updated on new dental hygiene practices and technologies through continuing education.
Qualifications:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
  • Valid Dental Hygienist license in New York State.
  • CPR certification (required).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for patient care.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
