Job Summary

Orlin & Cohen Medical Specialist Group is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our orthopedics department, you will be responsible for coordinating surgical procedures, managing patient schedules, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate surgical procedures, including scheduling, preparation, and follow-up
  • Manage patient schedules, ensuring timely and efficient processing of appointments
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to patient inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner
  • Collaborate with physicians, clinicians, and other staff members to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including demographic information and medical history
  • Monitor and respond to patient voicemails, ensuring timely and effective communication
  • Escalate complex issues to leadership for proper resolution
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; medical terminology experience preferred
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a customer service position, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer proficiency and ability to work with basic office equipment
  • Ability to relocate to Staten Island, NY prior to starting work
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in medical scheduling or a related field
  • Knowledge of manual and computerized scheduling systems
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and techniques
What We Offer
  • Competitive hourly rate: $25.00 per hour
  • Full-time opportunity with a 5-day work week (Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm)
  • Occasional Saturdays required
  • Travel between two offices
