Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Madigan Army Medical Center. As a PICU nurse, you will be responsible for providing critical care to pediatric patients, assessing, planning, and implementing age-specific nursing care, and managing complex medical cases.
Responsibilities:- Assume charge nurse responsibilities and provide leadership in the PICU.
- Provide critical care tasks, including hemodynamic monitoring, medication administration, and documentation of patient progress.
- Manage infection-prone procedures and collaborate with LPNs to ensure quality care.
- Respond effectively to emergencies and adhere to the job description's parameters.
- Perform other duties as assigned and in accordance with this PWS.
The PICU nurse will work normal duty hours, Monday through Sunday, including weekends and holidays. Federal holidays are considered work days. Leave and absences during normal work hours will be coordinated with and approved by the MTF Activity/Department head/supervisor.
Requirements:- Current, full, active, and unrestrictive license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- 1+ year experience working in the PICU as a Registered Nurse.
- Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree program from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
- Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Red Cross.
