Job Summary

Aiken Regional Medical Centers is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Unit Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical unit.

Responsibilities
  • Data Collection and Reporting: Accurately and promptly collect and report patient data, recognizing variances in patient condition and taking prompt action.
  • Plan of Care Implementation: Follow the plan of care and recommend changes to meet the ongoing needs of patients.
  • Patient Care and Support: Provide care that is related to the patient's needs and well-being, including vital signs, I&O, foley catheter insertion/discontinuation/care, feedings, treatments, specimen collection, linen changes, activities of daily living, turning, and attending to hygiene needs of patients.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Participate in shift report, as a member of the team, to meet the individual needs of patients. Utilize all communication systems correctly (pagers, call system, telephone) and report all identified problems to the Clinical Supervisor and/or Manager.
  • Supply Management and Confidentiality: Maintain accurate inventory of unit supplies and maintain confidentiality of the medical record.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, including entry of patient transfers/discharges into computer system within 15 minutes of actual transfer/discharge and maintaining universal chart order.
Qualifications
  • Education and Certification: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant program. Certification preferred.
  • Experience and Skills: Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Current CNA certification preferred. BLS certification. Basic PC knowledge and medical terminology.
