As a Facilities Technician at the Helen Ross McNabb Center, you will be responsible for various maintenance duties, including:

  • Conducting preventive maintenance on HVAC systems
  • Tracking and logging maintenance requests
  • Collaborating with service vendors
  • Replacing light fixtures, tubes, and electrical components
  • Arranging and moving furniture as needed

COMPENSATION: The starting salary for this role is approximately $19.15 per hour, depending on your experience and educational background.

SCHEDULE:

  • This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, with some overtime and on-call emergency duties.

TRAVEL:

  • Travel between various worksites is necessary.
  • A valid F endorsement is required.

EQUIPMENT/TECHNOLOGY:

  • Basic computer skills are essential for email communication, timekeeping, and utilizing the Facilities Ticketing System.
  • Familiarity with standard hand tools is expected.
  • Proficiency in using common office equipment is necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS - Facilities Technician

Education:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical systems, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC systems, and general construction practices is essential.

EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in building maintenance or construction is required.
  • Basic computer knowledge and software skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work effectively in environments with both adults and children.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and possess strong communication and customer service skills.
  • A valid driver's license is required to operate a center vehicle.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimal exposure to biological hazards.
  • Ability to hear normal/soft tones and perform close eye work.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching is necessary.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Applicants should demonstrate sound judgment under pressure.
