Become a part of the Helen Ross McNabb Center as a Technician in the Facilities Department.
The Facilities Technician is responsible for a variety of maintenance activities, which include:
- Conducting preventive maintenance on HVAC systems
- Tracking and managing helpdesk requests
- Collaborating with service providers
- Replacing light tubes, bulbs, fixtures, and electrical components
- Arranging and moving furniture as needed
COMPENSATION: The starting salary for this role is approximately $19.15 per hour, based on relevant experience and qualifications.
Schedule:
- This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, with some overtime and on-call emergency duties.
Travel:
- Travel between various worksites is necessary.
- A valid F endorsement is required.
Equipment/Technology:
- Basic computer skills are essential for email communication, timekeeping, and utilizing the Facilities Ticketing System.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools is necessary.
- Proficiency in using standard office equipment is required.
QUALIFICATIONS - Facilities Technician
Education:
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
- Understanding of basic electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC systems, construction materials, and general construction techniques is essential.
Experience / Knowledge:
- A minimum of three years of experience in building maintenance and/or construction is required.
- Some familiarity with computers and software applications is necessary.
- Ability to work effectively in an environment that includes both adults and children.
- Applicants must demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and possess strong communication and customer service skills.
- A valid driver's license is required to operate a center vehicle.
Physical Requirements:
- Minimal exposure to biological hazards.
- Ability to hear normal/soft tones and perform close eye work.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching is necessary.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Applicants should be capable of exercising sound judgment under pressure.
