This position acts as the Fiscal Support Specialist 2 for the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA).
The primary objective of this role is to assist the financial team with travel reimbursements and reconciliations, payments related to service agreements, procurement activities, and reimbursements in alignment with the Alaska Administrative Manual (AAM) and relevant collective bargaining agreements.
This role will also provide assistance to the Fiscal Support Specialist 3 in certifying transactions and collaborate with various divisions to resolve intricate accounting discrepancies and transactions.
In-depth knowledge of travel policies specific to the bargaining unit, State of Alaska travel and procurement regulations, the Alaska Administrative Manual, and IRS standards for taxable travel is essential.

Minimum Requirements:
One year of entry-level technical accounting or clerical bookkeeping experience.
Substitutions:
Certification as an Accounting Technician from an accredited institution may substitute for the required experience.
Post-secondary education from an accredited college may also substitute for the required experience (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month) if it includes at least 6 semester/8 quarter hours in Accounting.
