Lexington, Kentucky, United States Sound Physicians Full time

Dear Future Colleagues,

As the medical director overseeing our esteemed hospitalist program, I am thrilled to invite dedicated nurse practitioners and physician assistants to explore the opportunity to join our dynamic team at Sound Physicians. Our practice has flourished over the years, and we are eager to welcome those looking for a fulfilling career transition or recent graduates ready to embark on their professional journey.

Here’s a detailed look at our team, practice environment, and mission as you consider your next career move:

Team
  • We pride ourselves on being a cohesive and well-established group, consisting of 20 physicians and 6 advanced practice providers, supported by 2 dedicated clinical performance nurses.
  • Our culture embraces diversity, combining the expertise of seasoned professionals with the fresh perspectives of recent graduates.
  • We maintain a strong partnership with hospital administration, working collaboratively on various committees and initiatives aimed at improving hospital operations and delivering exceptional patient care.
  • Our supportive atmosphere encourages regular in-person meetings to ensure alignment across the team, as well as social gatherings outside of work.
Practice Environment
  • We thrive on tackling complex medical cases within a semi-open ICU, benefiting from around-the-clock intensivist support. Our clinicians are expected to perform certain procedures, with training available for those needing a refresher.
  • Our hospitalist advanced practice providers take on diverse roles within the team. Nighttime APPs manage patient care and admissions independently during night shifts, while Pre-Admission Clinic APPs operate in a clinic setting under physician supervision.
  • To foster a well-informed and connected team, we hold team huddles at least three times a week and conduct a monthly all-staff meeting. Additionally, we host monthly educational CME sessions and participate in a hospital-wide Hospital Medicine Committee meeting to enhance our collective knowledge.
  • Understanding the significance of work-life balance, our team enjoys flexible scheduling and mutual coverage during absences.
  • We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and AD&D coverage, short- and long-term disability, a 401k plan with matching contributions, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, along with an annual CME allowance.
Mission
  • Our priority is to always put patients first.
  • We emphasize professional growth and development, providing opportunities for career advancement both locally and within our broader medical group.
  • We are committed to supporting community well-being, encouraging our team members to engage with and contribute to the local community.

We invite you to consider joining our team, where you can thrive in a supportive environment dedicated to excellence in patient care.
