Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strong, positive leadership to the manufacturing team to maximize company operations, efficiencies, and safety objectives.
  • Understand and achieve specific company targets, including quarterly goals and a path to achieve them.
  • Direct and oversee operations for Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People (SQCD-P).
  • Lead by example and work with the team to better understand their role and exhibit our core values.
  • Provide coverage for Deck Leads (when needed) to run the day-to-day business operations.
  • Hire, evaluate, and develop manufacturing team members, including interviewing, hiring, and new employee on-boarding.
  • Facilitate production staff training to ensure ongoing development in cycle time maximization, minimize defects and rework, meet on-time delivery goals, and meet customer expectations.
  • Identify and implement Continuous Improvement projects that align with company goals.
  • Collaborate with the First Article team to ensure the first article run is completed on-time and correctly.
  • Monitor overtime and ensure the company controls costs and promotes efficient operations.
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment, identify and resolve safety concerns, and participate in corrective and preventative action activities.
  • Perform accident investigations as needed and take ownership of reducing scrap and 'first part good part' initiatives.
  • Work alongside the Master Scheduler and Production Planner to complete work orders correctly and ensure order quantities are met.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Coursework in Manufacturing Processes, Supervisor Training, or Lean Manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience, ideally in plastics.
  • Past supervisory or team lead experience (i.e., Deck Lead or previous Supervisor), preferred.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, create, and understand work instructions and procedures and read prints.
  • Mechanical aptitude, good attention to detail, ability to perform basic math computations and computer data entry.
  • Ability to use measuring devices (calipers, etc.) and hand and power tools (drills, etc.).
  • Good visual ability to detect quality defects.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret operating manuals and engineering standards.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
