Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician III to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Pharmacy Technician III, you will play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy operations and ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists with various tasks, including medication preparation, dispensing, and inventory management.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and efficient systems for tracking and managing medications, including automated dispensing machines and inventory control.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, providers, and clinic staff, responding to medication-related issues and concerns.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments and personnel to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
  • Perform audits, research, and data entry to maintain the integrity of programs and ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of software and hardware associated with Pyxis, RxRobot, Optifill, and other departmental systems.
  • Attend and participate in professional group meetings, staying abreast of new trends and innovations.
Requirements
  • High School or GED Equivalent
  • Training in Pharmacy Technology
  • 2 years of directly related experience
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician in NM within 60 days
Working Conditions

This position requires heavy work, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.

This position also requires working with chemicals, biohazardous materials, and requires Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
