Psychiatrist - Behavioral Health Specialist

About the Role:We are seeking a skilled Psychiatrist to join our team at Northwest Human Services. As a Psychiatrist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality psychiatric care to our patients, working collaboratively with our Medical Director and Clinic Director to coordinate and integrate medical, mental health and psychiatric care to stabilize a patient's psychiatric conditions.
Key Responsibilities:- Diagnose and treat patients of the Primary Care department for psychiatric conditions.
- Monitor medications for an ethnically diverse patient population with medical and behavioral health problems.
- Provide brief intervention strategies and develop treatment plans for patients.
- Collaborate and consult with medical providers, mental health staff, and other partners to ensure effective treatment for patients with behavioral health disorders.
- Conduct Psychiatric Evaluations and define and coordinates the most effective out-patient treatment plan for the client.
- Prescribe, follow-up, and monitor effectiveness and side-effects of prescribed psychotropic medications with select patients.
- Maintain appropriate medical records documentation on all patients in accordance with organizational policy and agency initiatives.
- Psychiatrist possessing unrestricted license for practice in the state of Oregon.
- Three year's work experience and specialized training in the mental health field.
- Excellent working knowledge of behavioral medicine and treatment for mental health conditions.
- Ability to make quick and accurate clinical assessments of mental and behavioral conditions and develop appropriate management/treatment plans.
- Able to work effectively as a team, interfacing with patients, primary care providers, mental health staff, as well as administrative and support staff.
