Staff Psychiatrist Opportunity at Salem Health

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional psychiatric care to inpatients, including admission, evaluation, diagnosis, and ongoing care.
  • Engage in treatment planning with an interdisciplinary team, contributing expertise to holistic patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families about symptoms and treatment options with clarity and empathy.
  • Provide accurate and timely discharge instructions to outpatient providers and families, ensuring a smooth transition of care.
  • Offer consultation services to Salem Hospital inpatients and emergency patients.
  • Deliver call coverage to the Emergency Department and inpatient unit.
  • Support physicians providing weekend coverage.
Requirements:
  • MD or DO degree from an approved school of medicine or osteopathy.
  • Current unrestricted license as a physician in the State of Oregon.
  • Current, valid, and unrestricted DEA certification.
  • Current board certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry, or board eligible with board certification achieved within 5 years.
