About the Role

The University of Washington Tacoma is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Psychological and Wellness Services to lead our team in shaping the future of student well-being. As a key member of the Student Affairs Leadership Team, you will oversee a dedicated team of clinicians, health promotion specialists, and doctoral-level trainees, ensuring high-quality, timely mental health services for our diverse student population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a unit plan that meets the needs of our students, using rigorous assessment to demonstrate outcomes and guide future planning.
  • Provide clinical supervision and training for doctoral interns and advanced doctoral practicum students in clinical and counseling psychology.
  • Collaborate with university leadership to develop and implement wellness strategies that promote holistic student success.
  • Serve as the lead campus consultant on student mental health, providing consultation and training to university staff and faculty.
  • Cultivate community referral partnerships to support students in need of mental health services.
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • Minimum of five years of professional clinical experience, including at least three years in a college or university counseling center.
  • Five years or more experience supervising professional staff and trainees.
  • Minimum three years of administrative experience in a clinical setting or a university student support services office.
  • Experience and strong commitment to serving an ethnically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse population.
