Transportation Operations Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
As a Monitor/Aide at First Student, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe transportation of students and passengers. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing operational oversight and day-to-day management of routes
- Assisting drivers in safe operation of routes
- Monitoring the welfare of passengers while in route
- Communicating behavior problems and conditions of various stops with the driver
- Assisting in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus
- Assisting students in the loading and unloading process
- Cooperating and communicating with school personnel, students, and parents
- Attending all safety and training meetings
- Conducting emergency evacuation from the bus, including use of exiting by emergency door
- Opening and closing service doors and moving up and down steps multiple times daily
- Cleaning the inside of the bus
- Assisting driver when necessary to safely direct the vehicle backwards
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- Good verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Early morning availability
- Judgement/problem solving skills
- Ability to manage high degrees of stress
