POSITION SUMMARY

The Field Engineer will collaborate with a project construction team to execute large-scale solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) EPC projects. This role involves supporting the site manager and closely working with field supervision to ensure the successful delivery of the project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee and manage project documentation, drawings, permits, reports, and other electronic records throughout the construction phase on a shared cloud platform.
  • Gather on-site data and prepare necessary reports for review.
  • Monitor and submit weekly production and productivity reports.
  • Organize and participate in field meetings with clients and stakeholders to discuss schedules and project progress.
  • Collaborate with the Field Superintendent, General Foreman, Foremen, and Project Manager to provide updates on schedules and progress.
  • Assist in creating Requests for Information (RFI), change orders, and cost estimates with input from the Superintendent.
  • Identify out-of-scope work or changes in conditions that may necessitate an RFI.
  • Ensure timely notification to relevant stakeholders.
  • Track and oversee project as-builts and final submissions.
  • Work alongside the Project Manager and Scheduler to update project timelines.
  • Prepare internal project budgets and maintain a clear understanding of costs and budget limits.
  • Provide field supervision with production and productivity data, material tracking, and other administrative support.
  • Summarize and manage time and material documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or progress towards a Construction or Project Management degree preferred.
  • Experience in renewables is advantageous if a degree is not held.
  • Background in construction or a strong desire to learn about the construction industry.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, BlueBeam, and web-based software applications.
  • Demonstrates a proactive attitude, initiative, and the ability to work independently.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting Civil, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical drawings.
  • Exhibits excellent reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to perform under pressure and adapt to changing job requirements.
  • Dependable and punctual in all work-related activities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and demonstrate leadership qualities.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and customer-focused approach.
  • Skilled in working effectively with field crews.
  • Capable of multitasking and prioritizing tasks efficiently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • This position requires approximately 90% field time with the ability to work remotely.
  • Variable working hours ranging from 40 to 60 hours per week based on project demands.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • Salary Range: $55,000 - $95,680 per year
    • Salary is commensurate with experience and paid weekly. Salary ranges are provided in good faith and may be adjusted based on the selected candidate's qualifications.
