Job Title: Controller - Financial Services

Bowers CPAs & Advisors is a leading public accounting firm seeking a highly skilled Controller to join our Client Accounting and Advisory Services department.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Controller-level accounting services, including month-end review and closing of financial records, budgets and forecasts, and financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the responsibilities of assigned outsourced accounting staff
  • Meet with clients as necessary and maintain a presence in client offices located in the surrounding local area
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of all transaction processing performed by staff
  • Perform monthly accounting reconciliations of bank and general ledger accounts for assigned clients
  • Manage month-end close for assigned clients
  • Prepare and analyze financial reporting
  • Assist in preparing proposals for Client Accounting & Advisory Services
  • Participate in client networking events
Requirements:
  • B.S. degree in Accounting
  • 5 years of experience in Client Accounting Services/Consulting with an accounting firm
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • 5 years of experience with budgets, financial modeling, and accounting transactions
  • Client-facing experience with the ability to travel and support local clients
  • Experience with QuickBooks preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Able to manage priorities and workflow
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
