We are seeking a highly skilled Customs Compliance Manager to join our team at Panasonic Automotive Systems Company of America. As a key member of our compliance department, you will be responsible for ensuring that our company operates in accordance with all relevant customs regulations and laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee customs regulatory compliance processes, including HTS classification, valuation, and country of origin issues.
  • Support foreign trade zone execution and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, security requirements, and all related activities.
  • Ensure compliance with partner government agency requirements, such as TSCA, FDA, FCC, APHIS, and others.
  • Supervise process for export control compliance, including ECCN, Schedule B, and party screening.
  • Increase knowledge of product lines to support compliance functions.
  • Support Finance in resolving ACH allocations related to customs duties.
  • Oversee transmission of classification and information to brokers and filers.
  • Manage and monitor broker/filer performance, evaluating new brokers for compliance.
  • Create standard operating procedures for brokers and monitor execution.
  • Prepare and submit replies to CBP requests for information and penalty notices.
  • Review completed compliance tasks and post-entry amendments/protests.
  • Ensure company certification and compliance with CTPAT Security, CTPAT Trade Compliance, and Forced Labor programs.
  • Direct self-audits and support annual reports to customs.
  • Lead and manage the team responsible for ensuring daily adherence to customs regulations and laws, while also identifying opportunities for duty savings.
  • Oversee ACE Trade Account as owner and support reporting requirements.
  • Establish compliance manuals and procedures to assist in day-to-day operations of a compliance department.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Trade, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification in customs compliance (CCS, CES) preferred.
  • Must be Licensed Customs Broker and maintain knowledge of government regulations. Five (5) plus years of experience in trade compliance. Three (3) plus years of supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Preference for foreign trade zone knowledge and experience.
  • Strong classification and import entry process a must.
  • Knowledge of electronic components and consumer electronics is a plus. Excellent computer skills.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Mexico import/export requirements, pedimento filings, and brokerage network.
  • Must possess strong ability to analyze issues, manage solutions, and projects with little support.
