As a Store Operations Manager at O'Reilly Auto Parts, you will play a critical role in supporting the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. This position will manage the store during the Store Manager's absence and/or when working opposing shifts. You will be responsible for leading the store team members in servicing customers and ensuring excellent customer service levels on the retail showroom.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
  • Supervising the customer service levels on the retail showroom to include team member execution on customer service programs.
  • Working with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak retail business hours.
  • Assisting the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback on goal achievement, coaching/mentoring team members, and making sure team members are staying current on their individual training.
  • Ensuring all buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders are processed in a timely manner and customers are contacted upon shipment arrivals as needed.
  • Utilizing electronic outside purchase order ledger to ensure special orders and outside purchases are handled efficiently and according to procedure.
  • Ensuring retail customer returns and exchanges are processed in an efficient and friendly manner, refunds are issued accurately using the correct payment methods, and returned merchandise is processed or staged in the returns area correctly.
  • Ensuring all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, are invoiced before product leaves the store.
  • Ensuring that Zipline messages are communicated, and Image Maker and merchandising tasks are delegated and completed as assigned.
  • Making sure all team members are complying with company policies specifically; adhering to the posted work schedule, changes/deviations are being approved by a member of management, and team members are clocking in/out accordingly.
  • Performing all store opening/closing duties, including performing day end procedures, verifying/securing money/deposits according to company policy, preparing bank deposits as needed, ensuring all night security lights are on, locking doors and securing building, arming/disarming security alarms, and checking/securing/locking delivery vehicle(s) parked in a secure designated area.
  • Assisting the store manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements include:

  • Sales Specialist Training
  • Assistant Manager Certification
  • RSS Certification
  • Desired: Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification
