POSITION SUMMARY
Apex Systems is seeking a seasoned Business Continuity Analyst with extensive expertise in Business Continuity planning and evaluation. This role is pivotal in steering the Business Continuity initiative throughout the organization by collaborating with various internal and external parties to guarantee the robustness of the Business Continuity framework against potential disruptions. The Analyst will oversee the regular updates of existing strategies, ensuring thorough reviews and necessary approvals are documented. The scope of Business Continuity strategies will be broadened based on stakeholder feedback and assessed business significance. It is essential that Business Continuity strategies are harmonized and consistent with Disaster Recovery plans for both conventional and ransomware scenarios. The Analyst will manage the daily operations of Business Continuity while ensuring alignment with other IT resilience activities. A clear understanding of organizational priorities and the impact of failures in internal and external dependencies, including IT infrastructure and supplier relationships, on service delivery is crucial. Up to 10% travel may be required.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee the governance of Business Continuity program initiatives, including mission/vision, charter, policies and standards, steering committee, budget, program management metrics, and reporting.
• Coordinate the development of regular updates (PowerPoint presentations) of the Business Continuity program for senior leadership.
• Facilitate business impact analyses (BIA) and risk assessments as necessary across the organization.
• Ensure the appropriate Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and crisis management plans are created, maintained, and tested by relevant business owners.
• Align Disaster Recovery plans and other operational recovery strategies with Business Continuity plans.
• Maintain records for developed plans.
• Design and facilitate testing and exercises on the Business Continuity plans and crisis management execution.
• Assist with navigation of Business Continuity plans during an event.
• Support post-exercise evaluations, summaries, enhancements, and resolutions.
• Provide training to business teams to support Business Continuity plan management.
• Offer recommendations regarding Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery systems to maximize coverage and minimize disruptions.
• Cultivate relationships with key business and administrative stakeholders to uphold the effectiveness of Business Continuity processes.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to define, collect, and analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make informed decisions.
• Skills necessary to assist with Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery and Incident Response operations.
• Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to achieve results.
• Capability to clearly articulate Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery requirements to various members of the organization, including senior management.
• Ability to foster and maintain relationships at all management levels to achieve consensus among diverse audiences with competing goals.
• Capacity to work independently and manage project timelines with minimal oversight.
• Comprehensive understanding of Business Continuity management and resilience principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and competing priorities.
Preferred:
• Experience in project management within a Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery context.
• Proven track record in coordinating large-scale initiatives in the Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and/or IT Security domains.
• Familiarity with various information security technologies and business applications.
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP), Fellow Business Continuity Institute (FBCI), Member Business Continuity Institute (MBCI), and/or NIMS/ICS are advantageous.
