Key Responsibilities

The Application Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Developing enhancements, testing, and training users on the systems.
  • Building order sets and dictionaries for Meditech Magic modules.
  • Creating documentation for user guides to facilitate training.
  • Understanding current workflows and helping to improve the design of systems and operational processes.
  • Liaising between clinical IT strategy, clinical leadership, and management initiatives, and constantly evaluating new strategies.
  • Identifying new learning processes and technologies required to support initiatives.
  • Monitoring, evaluating, and sharing emerging technologies.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.


Compliance Responsibilities

The Application Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Understanding and adhering to Loretto Hospital's compliance standards as outlined in the Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest Policy.
  • Staying up-to-date with all pertinent federal, state, and hospital regulations, laws, and policies.
  • Ensuring that staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, the Application Analyst must possess the following qualifications:

  • An Associate's degree is required, with a Bachelor's degree highly desired.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of IT experience, with clinical experience being a plus.
  • An understanding of HL7 Interfaces.
  • Experience working with Meditech Magic.
  • Knowledge of clinical, registration, and medical records workflows.
  • Strong communication, training, decision-making, and troubleshooting skills.
  • SQL and NPR report writing is a plus.


Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include occasional standing, walking, sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reaching with hands and arms; climbing stairs; balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; talking or hearing; tasting or smelling. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
