Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at CRAVE. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading and assisting staff to ensure exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduling and Labor Management: Schedule staff to meet labor costs and ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Food and Supply Management: Determine food and supply requirements using production systems and control costs.
  • Supply Chain Management: Ensure availability of supplies and food or approved substitutions in adequate time for preparation.
  • Staff Development and Coaching: Teach, lead, and motivate staff in a positive manner, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Menu Planning and Execution: Coordinate the introduction of new menu items from corporate executive chef to staff and plan food production to meet meal serving hours.
  • Food Preparation and Presentation: Facilitate the correct preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet orders, and oversee the apportioning of food for service.
  • Food Safety and Sanitation: Store and handle raw or prepared foods and non-food supplies, marking date and item, and follow proper food handling techniques.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Report necessary equipment repair and maintenance to Home Office and facilitate outsourcing of repairs.
  • Staff Liaison and Support: Liaise for staff issues, report all issues to Human Resources, and follow all designated uniform, grooming, safety, and sanitation rules and regulations.
Requirements
  • Certifications and Licenses: ServeSafe Certification and Food Handlers Certificate (or ability to obtain).
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Mathematical Skills: Basic mathematical skills.
  • Communication and Leadership Skills: Ability to follow written and oral instructions, supervise and motivate others, and demonstrate effective communication, problem-solving, planning, organizational, and creative skills.
  • Time Management and Delegation: Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, delegate tasks, and work independently and in a team.
  • Decision Making and Integrity: Demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills, and conform to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, dishwashers, slicers, steamers, mixers, and knives.
