Job Summary

As a Quality Engineer at Electric Materials Company, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality standards are met and maintained in our manufacturing or production environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and Implement Quality Control Plans: Create and implement quality control plans, procedures, and other practices for manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  2. Provide Technical Support: Provide technical support on inspections and quality tests on incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
  3. Analyze and Interpret Data: Analyze and interpret statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality objectives.
  4. Identify and Correct Quality Issues: Identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions in collaboration with production, engineering, and other teams to ensure quality standards are met.
  5. Monitor Compliance: Monitor compliance with quality standards and procedures, including ISO, nuclear, and other standards and regulatory requirements.
  6. Document and Report Quality Assurance Activities: Document and report quality assurance activities, test results, and process nonconformances through the DMR and RMA systems.
  7. Train and Support Production Personnel: Train and support production personnel in quality control procedures and best practices to ensure quality standards are met.
  8. Participate in Quality Audits: Participate in internal and external quality audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  9. Collaborate with Suppliers and Customers: Collaborate with suppliers and customers to resolve quality issues and improve overall product quality.
  10. Oversee Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility Studies: Oversee gage repeatability and reproducibility studies to ensure quality standards are met.
  11. Stay Updated on Industry Standards: Stay updated on industry standards and developments in quality assurance techniques to ensure quality standards are met.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree in Engineering or Related Field: Possess an associates degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Proven Experience in Quality Assurance: Have proven experience in quality assurance or quality control in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong Understanding of Quality Control Standards: Have a strong understanding of quality control standards and methodologies.
  • Working Knowledge of Metrology and GD&T: Possess a working knowledge of metrology and GD&T.
  • Experience with Quality Assurance Techniques: Have experience with quality assurance techniques and tools, such as Lean Manufacturing, PPAP, APQP, and others.
  • Ability to Analyze Data: Possess the ability to analyze data and generate meaningful insights.
  • Excellent Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Skills: Possess excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong Attention to Detail and Accuracy: Possess a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP Systems: Be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
  • Effective Communication Skills: Possess effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to Work Independently and as Part of a Team: Possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in Quality Management: Possess certification in quality management, such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Auditor, and/or other professional credentials.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems: Have experience with quality management systems, such as ISO 9001, AMSE NQA-1, and others.
Working Conditions:

  • May Require Occasional Travel: May require occasional travel to customer or supplier sites.
