Location: Utica, NY

  • Compensation: $20.75 per hour + .67 per mile travel reimbursement
  • Schedule: Friday - Tuesday starting at 6 AM
  • Basic Requirements: Daily access to reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and proof of insurance

Job Overview:

The Retail Merchandising Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the availability, visibility, and promotion of Coca-Cola beverages in retail environments. This position provides the chance to represent a globally recognized brand and contribute to our business success. The Specialist is tasked with maintaining beverage sections, displays, coolers, and all points of product availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement merchandising strategies to ensure optimal product placement, display, and availability in retail locations. This includes stocking shelves, rotating products, constructing displays, and ensuring product freshness.
  • Monitor product levels on store racks, shelves, displays, and in coolers to identify replenishment needs.
  • Transport products between backroom and display areas using manual equipment.
  • Execute promotional activities and marketing initiatives in line with company guidelines. Set up promotional displays and signage to attract customer attention and enhance sales.
  • Manage damaged or defective products while maintaining a clean product space.
  • Ensure accurate product counts by effectively managing backrooms and organizing backstock.
  • Operate manual and powered handling equipment (e.g., pallet jack, hand-truck).
  • Maintain designated areas of responsibility in assigned accounts by communicating status and concerns to store and company personnel.
  • Adhere to company and store policies regarding backroom operations, display areas, replenishment, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with store managers and staff to foster collaboration and maximize merchandising opportunities. Provide exceptional customer service to address inquiries or concerns.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of experience in grocery, retail, consumer goods, warehousing, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Experience operating manual or powered pallet jacks preferred.
  • Ability to repetitively lift, push, and pull up to 40-55 pounds, reach above head height, squat, kneel, bend, and reach.
  • Capability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to push and pull manual and powered material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jack, hand-truck) containing product loads for a minimum of 100 yards without assistance.
  • Valid driver's license, driving record within policy guidelines, and insurance that meets or exceeds company requirements.
