About the Role

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior FPGA and Firmware Engineer to join our Digital Electronics and Electromagnetics Department in Chantilly, VA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing digital signal processing algorithms on FPGA and firmware platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop digital signal processing algorithms for communication systems
  • Implement algorithms on FPGA and firmware platforms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate FPGA and firmware solutions into communication systems
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and presentations
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in FPGA and firmware development
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing digital signal processing algorithms
  • Experience with FPGA tools such as Vivado and Vitis
  • Strong understanding of digital signal processing concepts and techniques
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience with machine learning architectures on FPGA and GPU-based hardware
  • Proficiency with popular SDR tools such as GNURadio
  • Strong background in scientific programming using languages such as C, C++, and Python
