Position Summary: We are seeking a Structural Team Leader to oversee project execution from inception to completion. This role involves managing a team of project managers, engineers, and CAD Designers, ensuring high-quality deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive engineering analyses, including design and calculations.
  2. Perform site surveys to collect necessary field data.
  3. Generate detailed field reports.
  4. Interpret and prepare blueprints, schematic drawings, and layouts.
  5. Oversee the construction document printing process.
  6. Manage the proposal process from initial bidding to project completion.
  7. Review contracts and scope of work for assigned projects.
  8. Ensure timely delivery of projects within established deadlines.
  9. Address and resolve project-related issues efficiently.
  10. Evaluate and approve changes to engineering standards and policies.
  11. Review development plans for adherence to engineering standards and best practices.
  12. Coordinate activities of junior staff members.
  13. Conduct quality control checks on projects handled by junior team members.
  14. Implement effective project management methodologies.
  15. Ensure project budgets are maintained and timelines are met.
  16. Lead project kick-off meetings with team members.
  17. Assess project progress and provide financial evaluations.
  18. Select and customize standard details for projects as needed.
  19. Supervise the production staff to achieve project objectives.
  20. Develop and maintain relationships with existing clients while pursuing new opportunities.
  21. Negotiate project fees directly with clients.
  22. Manage monthly billing processes and collaborate with accounting staff.
  23. Handle human resources issues for team members.
  24. Assist with collections as necessary.
  25. Coordinate marketing efforts with corporate staff.
  26. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct annual performance reviews for team members.
  2. Justify the need for additional staffing as required.
  3. Oversee hiring and termination processes for team members.
  4. Maintain project schedules and billing targets.
  5. Align in-house project timelines with client expectations.
  6. Manage financial aspects to ensure team profitability.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess:

  • A minimum of 8 years of structural design experience, with at least 5 years in cold-formed steel.
  • 4 years of project management experience.
  • 4 years of experience in staff management.
  • A U.S. PE license is mandatory.
  • A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
