Position Overview:

The Chief Engineer role at Huntington Ingalls Industries is pivotal in overseeing a substantial Task Order that supports critical operations within the Secretary of the Air Force's Concepts, Development, and Management Mission Partner Capability Office. This position is located in a dynamic environment focused on enhancing our nation's defense capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and oversee all systems engineering functions associated with the Task Order, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Facilitate the preparation and dissemination of formal Command architecture documentation, while leading the research and analysis of Command and Control architectures.
  • Identify and implement enhancements related to the foundational architecture of MPE components, systems, or networks.
  • Champion an Agile methodology to drive continuous improvement in MPE architecture and infrastructure.
  • Explore and adopt advanced Systems Engineering tools, emphasizing Model-Based Systems Engineering principles.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison for all enterprise stakeholders.
  • Conduct technical reviews and preside over engineering review boards, supporting program evaluations.
  • Engage with project management offices and clients on technical issues.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with clients and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate and guide other contractors and personnel within the Mission Partner Capability Office.

Qualifications:

  • Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; 13 years with a Master's degree; or 10 years with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and experience in joint military operations.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DoDAF diagramming tools, such as Cameo NoMagic.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily office-based, with a focus on collaborative and strategic initiatives.
