Key Responsibilities:
This role involves overseeing the creation and refinement of design calculations, technical documentation, engineering plans, and specifications for designated projects. You will collaborate closely with the project manager to conduct research, development, calculations, design, and project delivery. Your expertise will be applied to engineering techniques, methodologies, and design standards for projects of varying sizes and complexities. You will utilize your technical knowledge and client relationships to facilitate the execution and assessment of project designs.
Additionally, you will:
- Develop both conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support project execution using contemporary drawing and technical tools, programs, and software.
- Mentor and guide junior engineering staff, providing constructive feedback on their work.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of a diverse array of projects for HNTB's clientele.
Essential Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or a PhD in Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Primary Focus:
Your role will include supporting final design reviews and ensuring quality assurance/control. You will coordinate design development and assist in providing technical direction, offering your expertise in various project aspects. This includes:
- Meeting with clients to coordinate design developments.
- Collaborating with sub-consultants and providing direction.
- Performing calculations and analyses related to foundation design.
- Supporting excavation efforts.
- Understanding settlement estimates and monitoring requirements for soft ground TBM tunnels.
Effective communication with senior Geotechnical/Tunnel leads, other discipline designers, sub-consultants, colleagues, and contractors is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
Possession of a Master's degree in Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering experience, Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, Professional Engineer (PE) certification, and American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification (as applicable).
