About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer II to join our team at HNTB. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for assisting in the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support project execution.
  • Perform research, development, calculations, and design in partnership with the project team.
  • Apply engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity.
  • Develop project quantities and assist with the development of cost estimates.
  • Assist engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in Engineering and 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in applying engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles in your work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and MicroStation and/or AutoCad or other software as required for job assignments.
  • Knowledge of settlement estimates and monitoring requirements for soft ground TBM tunnel.
  • Effective communication skills with Sr. Geotechnical/Tunnel leads, other discipline's designers, sub consultants, co-workers, and contractors.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • Knowledgeable in MicroStation and/or AutoCad.
