Job Title: Test Facility Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Booz Allen Hamilton. As a Test Facility Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and developing facilities for the Navy's premier facilities for ordnance, energetics, and explosive ordnance disposal solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead efforts to build, renovate, and adapt our clients' facility portfolio based on changing mission requirements.
  • Develop scopes of work, develop requests for proposals, and answer requests for information to resolve questions during construction.
  • Support the review of designs for compliance with code and energetic manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with our team to modernize facilities, energy, and infrastructure to rise to the challenge of the changing landscape around weapons testing.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience with design in a professional environment.
  • Experience with developing or reviewing designs for facilities projects.
  • Knowledge of industry standards for mechanical systems, including the International Building Code (IBC), ASHRAE standards, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), NFPA, or ASME.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal codes and standards around mechanical and HVAC system compliance.
  • Ability to develop statements of work and review facility designs for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and other requirements.
  • Ability to design facilities and support review of facility designs completed by others for compliance with code.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with engineering MEP construction drawing sets.
  • Experience in a lab environment, including low tolerances on the fluctuation of temperature, humidity, and ventilation.
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer License.
