Job Summary

Bowhead is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical System Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our multi-disciplined team, you will be responsible for generating innovative solutions for Department of Defense (DoD) and other government customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, execute, and track engineering development and qualification efforts of weapons systems.
  • Maintain awareness of program status against system requirements.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, senior executives, and the technical execution team.
  • Coordinate system qualification test planning and execution.
  • Provide written and oral program status reports.
  • Manage risk and conduct technology readiness assessments.
  • Coordinate milestone and engineering review meetings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited college.
  • 5+ years of experience with DoD weapon system acquisition in a systems engineering-focused environment.
  • Knowledge of energetic system test and evaluation.
  • Understanding of explosive train technology and functionality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of program personnel and outside contacts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
  • Ability to twist, bend, and squat periodically.
Security Clearance Requirements

Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
