Job Title: Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to join our team at KBR. As an Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, specifying, and implementing electrical systems, including power generation, distribution, and control systems. You will also be involved in the development of process control systems, instrumentation, and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and specify electrical systems, including power generation, distribution, and control systems
  • Develop process control systems, instrumentation, and automation
  • Interface with clients' cross-functional teams to define operating requirements
  • Assess the quality, robustness, and capability of newly designed and installed capital projects
  • Lead multidisciplinary small project teams across several different businesses and site infrastructure
  • Develop project estimates, scopes, and schedules
  • Manage scope change technically and commercially

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems
  • 8+ years of qualified related experience
  • Experience in the chemical, refining, or biofuels industry required
  • Experience with P&ID Development, equipment sizing, electrical calculations, and instrumentation
  • Demonstrated leadership of process design on capital projects, including responsibility for budget, schedule, and change management
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license preferred, but not required

Physical Requirements:

  • Work is located at a chemical plant and requires exposure to ambient temperature extremes
  • Work may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as fire-retardant clothing, hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots
  • Day-to-day physical requirements involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20 lbs frequently, etc
  • Work requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking up stairs
  • Assignments may require conducting plant walkdowns and wearing chemical plant or refinery PPE to include an H2S monitor, escape respirator, and FP coveralls
