Job Summary:

As an Aftertreatment Design and Release Engineer at Zobility, you will play a crucial role in defining and developing innovative aftertreatment systems for gasoline, diesel, and hybrid vehicle applications. Your expertise will be instrumental in meeting worldwide regulatory vehicle emission standards.

Main Responsibilities:

• Define and develop aftertreatment system architectures, substrates, washcoats, and precious metal loading selections to meet program performance objectives and durability requirements.
• Establish engineering specifications, component FMEA & DVP, and identify system trade-offs to align with system boundary conditions.
• Create and maintain catalyst prints, engineering specifications, application summary sheets, cost assumptions, and other relevant documents for three-way catalysts, diesel oxidation catalysts, selective catalytic reduction, and particulate filters.
• Lead supplier meetings to improve manufacturing processes for function, cost, weight, and quality.

Auditing and Compliance:

• Perform audits of manufacturing facilities for substrate, washcoat, and canning processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Support teams such as PMT, Engine Calibration, Exhaust D&R, Finance, Basic Design, and Certification to deliver program-specific designs within GPDS timing and cost constraints.

Emerging Technologies:

• Develop and track hardware and calibration solutions that meet system functional objectives.
• Support the evaluation of emerging aftertreatment technologies necessary to meet future government emissions regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of Product Development D&R experience.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical, Mechanical, or Computer Science Engineering.
• Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex system problems related to engines and emissions.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to maintain multiple programs in parallel.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in emission development.
• DVP&R and FMEA expertise.
• Six Sigma Green belt or Black belt certification is a plus.
