Job Description:

The Hardware in the Loop (HiL) Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting product development and system integration processes. This position involves developing test methods for automated execution, implementing tests using HiL equipment, documenting and reviewing execution reports, reporting incidents, and tracking software updates to fix issues.

The HiL Engineer develops expertise in software test design and has advanced knowledge in vehicle functional partitioning, electrical and communication architectures, embedded software processes, and the Global Product Development System.

This role serves as a single point of contact for the test organization and the feature owner, engineering team, and supplier. Key responsibilities include managing the test project for assigned features and programs, developing and negotiating the testing scope and statement of work, supporting tradeoff analysis of test requirements vs test environment capabilities, analyzing requirements, designing and executing test procedures, documenting test environment requirements, implementing and validating test environment solutions, developing test procedures to validate the test environment, analyzing test execution results, troubleshooting vehicle systems, and implementing continuous improvement strategies for test design, management, and execution processes.

Qualifications:
  • BS in engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive software development or validation
  • Experience with development and verification of embedded software using HiL equipment and software (e.g., dSpace, National Instruments)
  • 2+ years of experience in dSPACE control and automation desk software
