Overview:

The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of established procedures and techniques for aerial cable installation, including the positioning of poles and anchors. Familiarity with a diverse range of tools and equipment, as well as the ability to interpret prints and maps, is essential. Adherence to safety regulations and operational guidelines is mandatory. Responsibilities may encompass the installation of poles, anchors, and guys, aerial strand and cable, direct burial of piping, trenching for cable, conventional and directional boring, and the installation of underground conduit systems. A valid CDL is required, along with the capability to operate large bucket trucks and vehicles with trailers.

Responsibilities:

Engage in all aspects of telecommunications construction, which includes but is not limited to: loading, driving, delivering, excavating, and managing the removal and placement of various construction materials and equipment. Execute the installation and repair of aerial telecommunications cables. Utilize hand tools and equipment safely, including wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more. Operate mechanized equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, and excavators in a safe manner. Establish safety perimeters using appropriate signage, cones, and barriers. Direct traffic as necessary. Comprehend separation and clearance regulations. Demonstrate the ability to work safely at heights using climbing hooks and ladders. Exhibit flexibility to work across various locations.

Qualifications:

Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation. Possession of a valid driver's license or willingness to obtain the necessary license for the role. A clean driving record is essential. Basic understanding of and ability to operate various utility trucks and equipment safely. Basic knowledge of and ability to handle tools and equipment safely. A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License is required. Effective communication skills with customers and colleagues are necessary. Willingness to work in diverse weather conditions. Capability to climb telephone poles and operate a bucket truck, working at heights. Ability to lift and carry materials regularly, with the capacity to handle heavier weights as needed, with or without assistance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in construction, particularly within the telecommunications sector. Competence in performing all duties related to telecommunications construction, including pole transfers, maintenance builds, new installations, cable laying, over-lashing, and strand construction. Willingness to travel as required.
