About the Role

As an Aerial Construction Laborer at White Mountain Cable Construction, you will play a crucial role in the installation and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely at heights.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general labor duties related to telecommunications construction, including loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various types, sizes, and weights of construction materials and equipment.
  • Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Safely operate mechanized equipment, such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, and other specialized tools.
  • Set up safety perimeters using signage, cones, and safety barriers to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Flag traffic when required to maintain a safe working area.
  • Safely work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders, adhering to strict safety guidelines.
Requirements
  • Be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Hold a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.
  • Have previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
  • Knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to climb telephone poles and work in a bucket truck, as well as climb poles up to 40 feet.
  • Able to perform all duties in telecommunications construction, including pole transfers, maintenance builds, new builds, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction.
  • Able to lift/carry 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds as needed with or without assistance.
  • Ability to set up and maintain safe work areas.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Physical Demands

This role requires extended periods of standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds. Additionally, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
