Job Title: Lifeguard

At the YMCA of Greenville, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lifeguard to join our team. As a Lifeguard, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our members, guests, and program participants in our aquatic facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enforce aquatics rules and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform daily tasks and close the aquatics area according to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service to members, guests, and program participants.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work area.
  • Handle and resolve aquatics concerns and inform supervisors of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to member and guest requests.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and remain at assigned posts for extended periods.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a quality work environment.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with members, participants, and coworkers.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 15 years old.
  • Current lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (American Red Cross or YMCA).
  • Ability to communicate and enforce policies and procedures effectively.
  • Ability to react quickly and properly in emergency situations.
  • Excellent customer service skills and enthusiasm.
  • Complete Blood Bourne Pathogen and Child Abuse Prevention training within the first 30 days of employment.
