Aircraft Pneumatic Systems Repairer Job Description

As an Aircraft Pneumatic Systems Repairer with the U.S. Army, you will be responsible for supervising and performing maintenance on aircraft pneumatic systems. This critical role ensures the safety and readiness of Army aircraft, which are essential for various missions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Remove, repair, and test pneumatic systems, subsystems, and assemblies.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Use and maintain common/special tools.
  • Maintain facilities for storage of flammable/hazardous materials.
Training and Skills:

Job training for an Aircraft Pneumatic Systems Repairer requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instruction. You will learn skills such as engine disassembly and repair, repair of aluminum, steel, and fiberglass airframes/coverings, and fixing hydraulic, fuel, and electrical systems.

Helpful skills include a preference in mathematics and shop mechanics, interest in working with aircraft and engine mechanics, and ability to use hand and power tools.
