Position Overview

The Team Leader role is essential to the Jack's Stir Brew Coffee experience and serves as a junior member of the management team. Team Leaders provide managerial oversight in the absence of the Store Manager and are entrusted with key responsibilities vital for the smooth operation of our locations.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience:

  • Welcome all guests with a friendly demeanor and deliver efficient service.
  • Build rapport with guests by remembering their names and preferred items.
  • Inform guests about all food, beverage, and marketplace offerings.
  • Manage and operate assigned store stations (Cashier, Barista, Food Prep).
  • Handle refunds, voids, discounts, and complimentary items.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints and service issues.
  • Conduct daily walkthroughs to ensure a clean and organized front of house.
  • Maintain high product standards and brand integrity.

Store Operations:

  • Open the store and collaborate with the opening team to prepare for daily operations.
  • Oversee the closing procedures to ensure the store is clean and ready for the next day.
  • Supervise cash register operations, including transaction reviews and cash balancing.
  • Prepare and manage bank deposits.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management to enhance service quality and operational processes.
  • Foster a positive work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with POS systems and customer transactions.
  • Ability to maintain and balance cash drawers during shifts.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Capability to remain calm and communicate effectively during busy periods.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Willingness to accept feedback and continuously improve.
  • Reliability and ability to pass a background check.

Physical Demands:

  • Availability to work a minimum of 5 shifts per week.
  • Willingness to work early mornings and/or weekends.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the café.
  • Capability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Frequent communication with customers and staff.

Work Environment:

The work is conducted in a dynamic, high-volume café setting, which can be noisy during peak hours.
