About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Safety Inspections and Investigations: Conduct thorough safety inspections and investigations to identify potential hazards and risks, and implement corrective actions to mitigate them.
  • Develop and Implement Safety Training Programs: Design and deliver safety training programs to ensure that employees have the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their jobs safely.
  • Provide Regulatory Compliance Guidance: Provide guidance and support to ensure compliance with relevant safety and regulatory requirements, including OSHA, DOT, and EPA standards.
  • Collaborate with Management and Employees: Work closely with management and employees to identify and address safety concerns, and to develop and implement safety policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and Evaluate Safety Performance: Monitor and evaluate safety performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, and develop strategies to address them.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree or Equivalent: An associate degree or equivalent related work experience of 4 years is required.
  • Experience in Electric Distribution: Experience as a Lead Lineman, Journeyman Lineman, or Foreman in electric distribution is required.
  • Knowledge of Safety Standards: Knowledge of OSHA standards and principles of safety management is required.
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively collaborate with management and employees.
  • Bilingual in Spanish: Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA Outreach Training Instructor (Construction): Certification as an OSHA Outreach Training Instructor (Construction) is preferred.
  • Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST) or Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP): Certification as a Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST) or Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) is preferred.
Work Environment

This role operates in a field environment, requiring extended periods of physical activity, including bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and working in inclement weather conditions.
