Position Overview

OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE:

The teaching faculty is responsible for delivering educational activities and support that facilitate the achievement of course objectives and enhance the educational atmosphere of the college and its community. The faculty member's role includes learning facilitation, professional growth, and service to the institution. Key responsibilities involve planning, developing, and instructing courses in a manner that promotes student learning.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Deliver courses in Medical Radiologic Technology at various times and locations based on institutional requirements.
  2. Continuously seek to enhance instructional quality by adopting innovative methodologies and techniques.
  3. Create and utilize a syllabus for each course or laboratory in accordance with college and departmental standards.
  4. Design and implement diverse teaching methods and materials that assist students in achieving course objectives, accommodating various educational backgrounds and learning styles.
  5. Assess students to evaluate their progress towards course objectives and provide timely feedback on their performance.
  6. Complete necessary college reports and documentation.
  7. Review and recommend educational materials for student learning.
  8. Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
  9. Ensure accessibility to students through scheduled office hours and electronic communication.
  10. Engage in professional development and institutional service as determined in collaboration with the Dean.
  11. Perform other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This role may involve physical exertion, including extended periods of standing, walking on uneven surfaces, and lifting moderately heavy items. Specific physical characteristics and abilities, such as agility and dexterity, may be necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Utilizes equipment such as PCs in a networked environment, calculators, phones, and other office tools, along with specialized equipment relevant to the discipline.
  • Interacts with internal and external contacts as required to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Work is conducted in a controlled classroom and/or laboratory setting with exposure to industry-standard safety hazards.
  • Work hours will vary based on class schedules; instructors must be available to meet with students outside of class times.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field, along with two years of relevant non-teaching professional experience.
  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and registration in the relevant discipline.
Compensation

Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications. The salary offer will be based on the candidate's relevant experience and educational background.
