Network Development Engineer, Kuiper Network Services

Amazon's Project Kuiper is a pioneering initiative to launch a constellation of low earth orbit satellites, providing low-latency, high-speed broadband internet connectivity to underserved communities worldwide.


In this role as a Network Development Engineer, you will be part of the lab technical team designing and building the network that enables Kuiper.


Key responsibilities include collaborating with engineers and leaders across the organization to define connectivity solutions for Kuiper, providing technical leadership for Kuiper's terrestrial network plan and implementation, and defining network solutions for Kuiper's launch, manufacturing, and lab sites.


Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


Basic qualifications include 1+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols, 1+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment, and 3+ years of working with Cisco and/or Juniper network gear.


Preferred qualifications include 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl, 3+ years of building networking solutions for global deployments, and experience with AWS and AWS networking products such as Direct Connect and Transit Gateway.

The base pay for this position ranges from $127,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market.


Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
