Job Summary

Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Our mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

In this role, you will be the lead Quality Assurance Engineer responsible for Customer Terminal Software. You will work in a collaborative environment with teams inside Project Kuiper to develop a strategic vision for high release speed and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop comprehensive test strategies, frameworks, and methodologies to ensure the quality and reliability of software products.
  • Lead continuous improvement of the QA process.
  • Collaborate and influence cross-functional teams to understand software quality requirements and design effective test strategies.
  • Define release planning and provide input on the readiness of software for production deployment.
  • Work with component teams to identify pain points and provide technical guidance.
  • Create, maintain, and execute test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios for various software components.
  • Identify and document defects, issues, and potential areas of improvement in the software development process.
  • Perform root cause analysis of complex issues and work with the development team to resolve issues and enhance product quality.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in QA and testing.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of quality assurance engineering experience.
  • 4+ years of delivering test frameworks, test tools, leading the QA projects and initiatives experience.
  • Knowledge of QA methodology and tools, with demonstrated experience in a QAE role.
  • Experience in automation testing.
  • Experience in manual testing.
  • Knowledge of at least one modern object-oriented programming language such as C++, Java, Objective C.
  • Experience testing networking or wireless communication systems.
About the Team

The Kuiper Customer Terminal Software Team supports the devices that connect our customers to the Kuiper network. We work hand in hand with hardware, product, and operations teams to deliver a great experience for our customers.

Compensation

The base pay for this position ranges from $120,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
