Software Development Engineer III, Project Kuiper

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

As a Backend Services Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing backend services for Project Kuiper, leveraging your expertise in system design and AWS cloud services infrastructure such as IAM, Lambdas, Cloud watch, and API gateways.

You will participate in all phases of software development, from requirements through implementation and test to operations, and will work closely with the build team to ensure developer experience, devops, CICD, and production services are top-notch.

Key responsibilities include software architecture and design, understanding of AWS stack, automation, monitoring, and operational excellence.

Basic qualifications include 8+ years of non-internship professional software development experience, 8+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience, and 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience.

Preferred qualifications include 8+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience, and a Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market.
