Key Responsibilities:

As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will:
  • Facilitate the scheduling of complex, multidisciplinary care for established patients receiving comprehensive cancer treatment.
  • Collaborate with patients to navigate the healthcare system, ensuring effective communication among patients, families, care teams, and various clinic departments.
  • Manage a high volume of incoming calls and scheduling requests to guarantee timely and coordinated patient care.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

Experience:

No prior experience is necessary unless an associate degree is not held. Familiarity with complex oncology scheduling systems is advantageous.

Education:

An Associate Degree is required. Alternatively, a high school diploma or equivalent with at least two years of experience in intake, registration, scheduling, or a related clerical role in a medical environment is acceptable. Completion of a medical terminology course is preferred, and a Bachelor's degree is desirable.

Essential Skills:

Applicants should possess:
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to identify critical issues and make independent judgments.
  • Attention to detail with skills in analysis, problem-solving, and managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent follow-up capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications.
  • Critical thinking abilities.
