Veterinary Technician

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Tukwila, WA is seeking a skilled Relief Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic Emergency Department team.
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $49.15, with opportunities for advancement through our CareerTrax leveling system. Additionally, we provide shift differential pay for eligible hours worked on nights and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients using proper technique and equipment.
- Triage emergency cases, obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
- Perform digital radiography, ensuring proper patient positioning.
- Have a thorough understanding of normal patient vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
- Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting veterinarians to changes and issues.
- Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
- Calculate medical math, administer medications via appropriate routes and duration, and perform phlebotomy and intravenous catheter placement.
- Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
- Mentor and train colleagues, addressing client concerns with empathy and patience.
