Program Coordination Specialist Job Summary:

The Program Coordination Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our adult, child and teen advocacy programs. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, this position provides direct services, leadership and coordination in providing services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

About Independence House:

We are a comprehensive domestic & sexual violence community-based agency and shelter program that focuses on meeting the unique and cultural needs of survivors and their children. Our mission is to provide safety, food, shelter, advocacy, counseling and other resources to assist survivors in rebuilding violence-free lives for themselves and their children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Coordination: Coordinate the daily operation of the programs, including scheduling and ensuring adequate coverage.
  • Direct Services: Provide all direct services, including crisis intervention, individual counseling, advocacy and support groups.
  • Leadership: Work closely with the Clinical Director to ensure proper implementation and delivery of services provided to survivors.
  • Training and Development: Coordinate and provide ongoing training to support staff development skills and knowledge.
  • Administration: Perform additional administrative duties related to grant compliance and service evaluation.
  • Representation: Represent the agency at community meetings and events.

Requirements:

This position requires a strong clinical background and commitment to working on behalf of adult, child and teen survivors of domestic and sexual violence. The ideal candidate will possess a master's degree in social work or a similar degree, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in the field. Strong communication and organizational skills are also essential.
